Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog International
Preparation Training Class
Cost: $120
Do you want to polish up your dogs training?
Have you ever thought of getting an AKC title on you dog?
Do wish that your dog was better behaved?
Have you ever wished your dog was well behaved to volunteer to
work in a children's reading program, visit hospitals, nursing homes, or assist physical/ occupational therapist with rehabilitation.
Well here is a great opportunity. We offer lessons that encourage good behavior and avoid unacceptable behavior all the while helping you
establish a strong bond with your canine companion. For dogs/ puppies 5 months and older. You will receive a certificate of completion &
possibly earning the CGC title/certificate. This program is open to pure & mixed breeds. Course length: 8 weeks. Week 9 will be the CGC test.
It is an easy pet friendly test. Let everyone know that your dog is a Canine Good Citizen. Key topics to be covered in the classes include:
We will be working on skills to take the Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog International test. It is not necessary to take the test but it is
encouraged. The classes will start here at our home, but there will be a few field trips to practice our skills with distractions. Class price:$90 for 5
lessons + 1 test day. Bring a friend and receive a $10 discount.

We combine our CGC & TDI class because the test are almost the same. Here is some info on being a TDI dog.
What is a Therapy Dog?
A Therapy Dog is a dog with an outstanding temperament
A Therapy Dog tolerates other animals
A Therapy Dog wants to visit with people
A Therapy Dog loves children
A Therapy Dog gets along with other dogs
Why Don't Therapy Dogs Wear Vests? Therapy Dogs are to be petted, and vests cut down on the petting area.
Additionally, the use of vests can confuse a Therapy Dog with a Service Dog.
A TDI Therapy Dog on Visits is Identified by:
A TDI Bandana
A current TDI ID Tag
A flat buckle collar or simple harness
A current TDI ID Card

If you are a multiple dog family, they are all welcome to attend the class for the same price, but they must each be
escorted by a responsible human
pack leader.

Other Training options:
- 1) Private Lessons $30/hour (for the whole pack, usually to deal with specific issue)
2) Obedience classes at my home $120/ 8 lessons (for the dog & owner)
3) Training wile boarding here. $10/ day for the training in addition to boarding fee.
4) CGC test only $25 (if you take a class the test is included in the class fee, there is a $5 fee payable to AKC to receive your CGC
certificate)
5) New!! We are now offering In Home consultations. $100/ hour (If the distance is more than 30 miles travel from my home there will be
a $.20/ mile travel expense.)
